1) Introduction and Contact Details of the Controller

1.1 We are pleased that you are visiting our website and thank you for your interest. The following information explains how we handle your personal data when you use our website. Personal data refers to all data with which you can be personally identified.

1.2 The controller responsible for data processing on this website within the meaning of the Swiss Data Protection Act (DSG) is JUST A BEAN – Michel Laubscher, email: kontakt@justabean.coffee.
The controller for the processing of personal data is the natural or legal person who alone or jointly with others determines the purposes and means of the processing of personal data.

2) Data Collection When Visiting Our Website

2.1 When you use our website purely for informational purposes — that is, if you do not register or otherwise provide us with information — we only collect the data that your browser transmits to our server (so-called “server log files”). When you access our website, we collect the following data, which is technically necessary for us to display the website to you:

  • The website visited

  • Date and time at the moment of access

  • Amount of data sent in bytes

  • Source/reference from which you reached the page

  • Browser used

  • Operating system used

  • IP address used (possibly in anonymized form)

No disclosure or other use of the data takes place. However, we reserve the right to subsequently check the server log files if there are concrete indications of unlawful use.

2.2 For security reasons and to protect the transmission of personal data and other confidential content (e.g., orders or inquiries to the controller), this website uses SSL or TLS encryption.
You can recognize an encrypted connection by the string “https://” and the lock symbol in your browser bar.

3) Hosting & Content Delivery Network

WIX For hosting our website and displaying page content, we use the system of the following provider:

All data collected on our website is processed on the provider’s servers.
We have entered into a data processing agreement with the provider to ensure the protection of our visitors’ data and to prohibit unauthorized disclosure to third parties.

For the transfer of data to the United States, the provider relies on the Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the Swiss Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC), which are intended to guarantee compliance with the Swiss level of data protection.

4) Cookies

To make your visit to our website attractive and to enable the use of certain functions, we use so-called cookies on various pages. Cookies are small text files that are placed on your device. Some of the cookies we use are deleted after the end of your browser session — that is, after you close your browser (so-called session cookies). Other cookies remain on your device and allow us or our partner companies (third-party cookies) to recognize your browser during your next visit (persistent cookies).

When cookies are set, they collect and process specific user information such as browser type, location data, and IP address values to varying degrees. Persistent cookies are automatically deleted after a predefined period, which may differ depending on the cookie.

In part, cookies are used to simplify order processes (e.g., to remember the contents of a virtual shopping cart for a later visit). We may collaborate with advertising partners who help make our website more interesting for you. In this case, cookies from partner companies (third-party cookies) are also stored on your hard drive when you visit our website. If we work with such advertising partners, you will be informed individually and specifically about the use of such cookies and the scope of the information collected within the corresponding sections below. Please note that you can set your browser to inform you about the placement of cookies, to decide individually whether to accept them, or to exclude the acceptance of cookies for certain cases or in general. Each browser differs in the way it manages cookie settings. You can find instructions on how to change these settings in your browser’s help menu, under the following links:

Please note that disabling cookies may restrict the functionality of our website.

5) Contacting Us

When contacting us (for example, via contact form or email), personal data is collected.
The specific data collected via a contact form is indicated on the respective form.
This data is used exclusively to respond to your inquiry and for the associated technical administration. Your data will be deleted once your request has been fully processed — that is, when it can be inferred from the circumstances that the matter has been conclusively clarified and there are no legal retention obligations that would require further storage.

6) Data Processing for Customer Account Creation and Contract Fulfillment

Personal data is collected and processed when you provide it to us for the purpose of performing a contract or opening a customer account. The specific data collected is apparent from the respective input forms. You can delete your customer account at any time by sending us a message to our address. We store and use the data you provide for contract processing. After deletion of your customer account, your data will be blocked in consideration of tax and commercial retention periods and deleted after these periods have expired, unless we can demonstrate an overriding legitimate interest in further processing within the meaning of Art. 31 para. 2 DSG or another legal justification.

7) Comment Function

When using the comment function on this website, in addition to your comment, information on the time the comment was created and the name you selected as a commenter will be stored and published on the website. Your IP address will also be logged and stored. The storage of the IP address is done for security reasons and in case the affected person violates the rights of third parties or posts illegal content through a comment. We require your email address to contact you if a third party objects to your published content as unlawful. We reserve the right to delete comments if they are reported as unlawful by third parties.

8) Use of Your Data for Direct Advertising

8.1 Subscription to Our Email Newsletter

By providing your personal data, you consent to our use of this data for sending newsletters.

We store the IP address entered by your Internet service provider (ISP) as well as the date and time of registration to be able to trace any possible misuse of your email address at a later date.

The data collected during newsletter registration is used exclusively for sending the newsletter and promotional communication. You may unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time via the link provided in each newsletter or by contacting us directly. After unsubscribing, your email address will be immediately removed from our mailing list unless we can demonstrate an overriding legitimate interest in further processing under Art. 31 para. 2 DSG or another legal justification.

8.2 Wix Newsletter

Our email newsletters are sent via the following provider:

Based on our legitimate interest in effective and user-friendly newsletter marketing, we share the data you provided during newsletter registration with this provider so that they can send newsletters on our behalf. With your express consent, the provider also conducts a statistical analysis of newsletter campaigns using web beacons or tracking pixels in the emails sent.
These measure open rates and specific interactions with newsletter content.
Device information (e.g., time of access, IP address, browser type, operating system) may also be collected and analyzed but is not merged with other data sources. You can withdraw your consent to newsletter tracking at any time with effect for the future. We have concluded a data processing agreement with the provider, ensuring the protection of our visitors’ data and prohibiting unauthorized disclosure to third parties. For data transfers to the United States, the provider relies on Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the Swiss Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC) to ensure compliance with the Swiss data protection level.

9) Data Processing for Order Fulfillment

9.1 The personal data we collect will be passed on to the shipping company commissioned with delivery, to the extent necessary for delivering the goods. Your payment data will be forwarded to the credit institution commissioned with the payment process, as far as this is necessary for processing the payment. If payment service providers are used, these are explicitly mentioned below.

9.2 Cooperation with Shipping Partners

To fulfill our contractual obligations to our customers, we work with external shipping partners.
We transfer your name and delivery address solely for the purpose of delivering the goods to a shipping partner selected by us.

9.3 Disclosure of Personal Data to Shipping Service Providers

– Post CH
If delivery is carried out by Post CH (Swiss Post AG, Wankdorfallee 4, 3030 Bern, Switzerland), we will pass on your email address to Post CH before delivery to coordinate a delivery date or provide a delivery notification, provided that you have expressly consented to this during the order process.

Otherwise, only the recipient’s name and delivery address will be forwarded to Post CH for delivery purposes. In this case, scheduling a delivery date or receiving status updates is not possible.

You may withdraw your consent at any time with effect for the future by contacting the controller mentioned above or Post CH directly.

9.4 Use of Payment Service Providers (Payment Processors)

– Google Pay

If you choose Google Pay (Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, 4 Barrow St, Dublin, D04 E5W5, Ireland), payment processing occurs through the Google Pay app on your Android device with NFC capability, using a card stored in Google Pay or a verified payment system (e.g., PayPal).

For payments above €25, you must unlock your device using your chosen verification method (e.g., password, fingerprint, or facial recognition). For payment processing, your order details are transmitted to Google. Google then forwards your payment information in the form of a unique transaction number to the originating website to confirm the transaction.  This transaction number contains no actual payment data but serves as a one-time token. Google acts solely as an intermediary for payment processing; the transaction itself occurs between you and the merchant.

If personal data is processed during these transmissions, it is done exclusively for payment processing in accordance with Art. 6 para. 1(b) GDPR.

Further details and privacy policy:

– PayPal

When paying via PayPal, credit card via PayPal, direct debit via PayPal, or (if offered) “purchase on account” or “installment payment” via PayPal, your payment data is transmitted to PayPal (Europe) S.à r.l. et Cie, S.C.A., 22–24 Boulevard Royal, L-2449 Luxembourg.

PayPal may carry out a credit check for certain payment methods.
To do so, your payment data may be forwarded to credit agencies based on PayPal’s legitimate interest in assessing your creditworthiness.

The result of this check is used to determine whether a payment method can be offered.
Details can be found in PayPal’s Privacy Policy:

You can object to this data processing at any time by contacting PayPal, though PayPal may still process your data if necessary for contract fulfillment.

– PayPal Checkout

This website uses PayPal Checkout, a payment system combining PayPal-owned and third-party local payment methods.

If you pay via PayPal, credit card, or direct debit via PayPal, or choose “Pay Later,” your payment data will be transmitted to PayPal (Europe) S.à r.l. et Cie, S.C.A., Luxembourg, for payment processing.

PayPal may also perform credit checks when applicable and forward data to Ratepay GmbH (Franklinstraße 28–29, 10587 Berlin, Germany) if the “invoice purchase” option is selected.
Details on credit agencies used by Ratepay can be found here:

– Stripe Payments

One or more online payment methods on this website are provided by Stripe Payments UK Limited, 9th Floor, 107 Cheapside, London EC2V 6DN, United Kingdom.

When selecting a Stripe payment method (e.g., credit card), the payment data you provide during checkout (name, address, bank and card details, currency, transaction number, and order content) is transmitted to Stripe solely for payment processing in accordance with Art. 6 para. 1(b) GDPR.

– SIX Payment Services

If you choose a payment method provided by SIX Payment Services AG, Hardturmstrasse 201, CH-8021 Zurich, your order and payment details will be transmitted to SIX solely for payment processing purposes.

11) Use of Social Media: Videos

Use of YouTube Videos

This website uses the YouTube embedding function to display and play videos hosted by YouTube, a service belonging to Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, 4 Barrow St, Dublin, D04 E5W5, Ireland (“Google”).**

The extended privacy mode is enabled, which—according to YouTube—means that user information is only stored once a video is played.
When you start playback of an embedded YouTube video, YouTube sets cookies to collect information about user behavior.

According to YouTube, these are used, among other purposes, to compile video statistics, improve user experience, and prevent misuse.
If you are logged in to your Google account, your activity will be directly associated with your profile when you click on a video.
If you do not wish this association, you must log out before activating the video.

Google stores data (even for users not logged in) as user profiles and analyzes them.
You have the right to object to the creation of these profiles, and to exercise this right you must contact YouTube directly.

When using YouTube, personal data may also be transmitted to the servers of Google LLC in the United States.
Even without playing a video, a connection to the Google network is established every time this website is accessed, which may trigger further data processing beyond our control.

Further information about data protection at YouTube can be found here:

For data transfers to the USA, the provider relies on the Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the Swiss Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC) to ensure compliance with Swiss data protection standards.

12) Tools and Miscellaneous

12.2 Google Maps

We use Google Maps (API) by Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, 4 Barrow St, Dublin, D04 E5W5, Ireland (“Google”)** on our website. Google Maps is a web service for displaying interactive maps to visually present geographical information. Its use allows you to easily locate our business and plan your route. When accessing a subpage containing a Google Maps element, information about your use of our website (e.g., your IP address) is transmitted to and stored on Google servers.
This may also involve transmission to the servers of Google LLC in the United States.

This occurs regardless of whether you are logged into a Google account. If you are logged in, your data will be directly linked to your account; to prevent this, log out before using the map feature.

Google stores data as usage profiles and evaluates them. You have the right to object to the creation of these profiles; to exercise this right, contact Google directly. If you disagree with future transmission of your data to Google in connection with Google Maps, you can disable the service entirely by deactivating JavaScript in your browser settings. Google Maps (and thus the map display) will then no longer be functional. For transfers to the USA, Google relies on FDPIC-approved Standard Contractual Clauses ensuring Swiss-level data protection.

12.3 Applications for Job Vacancies via Email

Our website may list open job vacancies that interested candidates can apply for by email to the address provided.

To participate in the recruitment process, applicants must provide all personal data necessary for a thorough evaluation and selection process.
This typically includes general personal information (name, address, telephone or email contact) and qualification-related documents required for the position.
In some cases, health-related information may also be required where legally necessary for employment or social-security considerations.

After receiving an application, we store and process the applicant’s data exclusively for the purpose of managing the application process.
For follow-up questions, we may use the email address or phone number provided.

The legal basis for processing is the initiation of an employment relationship. If special categories of personal data (e.g., health data) are processed, this occurs only as required to fulfill legal obligations in employment and social-security law or for health and occupational safety purposes. If an applicant is not selected or withdraws the application, the submitted data—including all related correspondence—will be deleted no later than six months after notification, based on our legitimate interest in addressing any subsequent questions and fulfilling equal-treatment documentation duties.
If the application is successful, the data will be further processed for the execution of the employment relationship.

13) Rights of the Data Subject

Under applicable data-protection law, you have the following rights concerning the processing of your personal data:

  • Right of access (Art. 25 DSG)

  • Right to data portability or disclosure (Art. 28 DSG)

  • Right to rectification (Art. 32 para. 1 DSG)

14) Duration of Retention of Personal Data

The duration of storage of personal data depends on the applicable legal basis, the processing purpose, and—where relevant—statutory retention periods (e.g., commercial or tax law).

Where processing is based on explicit consent, the data will be retained until you withdraw your consent. If statutory retention periods apply, data will be retained for the legally required duration.

Beyond that, personal data will be processed as long as you do not expressly object, unless we can demonstrate an overriding legitimate interest in continued processing under Art. 31 para. 2 DSG or another legal justification.
